What a better way to round off the Spring term than with our @nflflag competition! There was a fantastic competitive spirit on display from all the teams that entered, with some schools clearly putting in the workshowcasing well-rehearsed offensive plays that really paid off on the field. For us, this event is an opportunity to grow the game locally and we were delighted to have the support of Johnathon from @bigkidfoundation to support us with this aim After an exciting final with some incredible running plays The Minster were victoriouswith @oasisacademyshirleyparkprimary inplace Congratulations to @selsdonprimaryschool and Forestdale for being part of a fantastic morning of sport Exciting to see the future of the game developing right here! @nfluk @bigkidflagfootball

Game ready, game on! What a fantastic way to start the week at the Croydon SSP & Panathlon KS1 & KS2 Ten Pin Bowling Competition! 25 schools 25 lanes 2 brilliant sessions Hundreds of smiles Hosted at Valley Park Leisure Complex, the day was full of excitement, laughter and celebration. For many children it was their first time visiting a leisure centre or trying bowling, making every strike, spare and cheer even more special! Ten-pin bowling is a brilliant inclusive sport, with ramps, bumpers and different ball weights helping every child take part, build confidence and enjoy success at their own level. Due to its predictability, the activity can be soothing for children with autism or anxiety. It improves hand-eye coordination, balance, and muscle strength. It builds confidence, self-esteem, and provides opportunities to practice social skills and turn-taking. Combined with our Play. Chill. Heal. Warm-Up & Recovery Zone, it fully supports young people with Special Educational Needs to be active, enjoy themselves, perform to the best of their abilities, and feel safe both physically and mentally. Huge thank you to Harry from The Panathlon Foundation for your expertise, enthusiasm and support. Well done to all the schools who took part and congratulations to our winners - Howard @howard.primary.school and Regina Coeli @reginacoelicatholicprimary #InclusiveSport #Panathlon #SchoolSport #TenPinBowling #przewrótwprzód @bk21_medconcept @hellostormbreak @hyperice @youthsporttrust @yourschoolgames @panathlonchallenge @olivierjaniak @gqpoland

As part of the Barclays Girls' Football in Schools Partnership, we're proud to provide girls and young women with fun, high-quality opportunities to play football helping to create a cultural shift where girls see themselves not only as footballers, but as leaders, champions and equals. Our Year 3 & 4 Girls Football Competition, held at Archbishop Lanfranc Academy, perfectly reflected that mission. The event gave girls the chance to compete, represent their schools and explore the importance of effective warm-ups, rest and recovery to support their performance and wellbeing. It was an absolute pleasure to watch the talented young teams shine on the pitch and to see them getting creative and enjoying our Play. Chill. Heal. Recovery Zone. Huge congratulations to our runners-up - 2nd time this week, South Norwood, for their excellent performance. And a massive well done to Margaret Roper for winning the competition and qualifying to represent Croydon at the London Youth Games! Thank you to our fantastic hosts @lanfrancschool and outstanding Young Leaders for your superb refereeing skills you were brilliant! Since 2019, 3.8 million girls have been empowered to play football in schools through Barclays Girls' Football in Schools, proving that football is for everyone and showing girls they can achieve anything. @bk21_medconcept @hyperice @hellostormbreak @youthsporttrust @ldnyouthgames @yourschoolgames @barclaysfootball @englandfootball @schoolsfootball @officialsportengland @olivierjaniak @gqpoland @thisgirlcanuk #girlsfootball #przewrotwprzod #thisgirlcan @southnorwoodprimaryschool
